Unusual Bathroom Design Inspiration
Here is more design inspiration I garnered from my recent trip to New Orleans and will inform a future design project back in Massachusetts.
I snapped this very quick photo walking down a street in New Orleans (my husband gets antsy if I stop to carefully photograph all of my inspirations - as really EVERYTHING is inspiration to me, so we'd be at a constant halt). I'm surprised the photo even came out, but I'm happy now to have the record.
Now that I look at the photo I see how I would use this inspiration and translate it into a client's interior design project. I would love to replicate this aesthetic in a client's bathroom.
My Bathroom Design would consist of:
1) A stone or cement floor (heated of course) in the grey family, honed for a more earthy feel.
2) A Venetian plastered minty green wall treatment.
3) A bright white soaking tub, sink, and toilet. The shiny white finish will contrast with the dull, muted, and matte finishes in the space.
4) Mixed metal faucets, sconces, accessories and fixtures.
5) An antique French chandelier.
6) Antiqued wall sconces (on dimmers to create a nice soaking tub mood).
7) Although I typically add a splash of black to every room I design, I think I’d skip black in this space and go for a dark bronze or gunmetal finish.
Now, I have the vision to make this New Orleans-inspired bathroom come to life, but I know from working with over 1000 clients, they do not. If you need help desinging your new bathroom or want a consultation to help you get started, contact us today!
